Ingredients
- 1 Red onion, sliced
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Vinegar or citrus juice
- 1 tbsp Salt, more to taste
- 1 tbsp Sugar, more to taste
- 1 tbsp Red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Pack onion into nonreactive container (glass, stainless steel, plastic). Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Taste and adjust to your liking.
- Let sit at least 30 minutes before eating.
Notes
Pickled red onions are a wonderful addition to salads, sandwiches and charcuterie boards.
