Autumn is that delightful time of year that leads us to forget the sweltering summer as the days get cooler and the nights crisp.

It’s the time of year we welcome our favorite local apples, even more vibrant flowers, squash and concord grapes, but then bid farewell to the peaches and melons. Luckily, tomatoes, sweet corn, and peppers are always ready to carry us into the first frost.

On Saturday, September 28th, the Burlington County Farmers Market will celebrate all things Squash! We will kick off our last produce-themed special day of the year with Squash basket giveaways all morning, butternut squash soup samples, zucchini bread samples, and pumpkin ice cream samples while supplies last! We will also have squashy prepared foods and baked goods, a fall-themed photo op for the family and tons of beautiful, locally grown squash throughout the market!

For the Love of Squash!

There will be a variety of squash to taste, learn about, and take home with you. You can find Kabocha Squash, Cheese Pumpkins, Blue Hubbards, Delicata Squash, Honeynut Squash and so much more! Black Sheep Farm, Durr’s Bluebox Produce, Pinelands Produce, Cranberry Hall, and Fernbrook Farms will have their tables jam packed with all types of squash.

Stop by the Farmhouse Kitchen at 10am for a chef-led, squash-inspired cooking demonstration. Just be sure to get there a little before 10am to get a seat, enjoy the demo and sample a bite before heading back out to shop. Picnic under the shade trees and listen to live music with JB Rocks while you enjoy your market finds.

The Burlington County Farmers Market is located at the Burlington County Agricultural Center at 500 Centerton Road Moorestown, NJ. The market runs through November 23rd, the last day of the regular season.
