You’ll make a French Lemon Tart and a French Almond & Apple Tart, showcasing spelt flour’s unique flavor. We’ll also whip fresh cream to serve with the tarts and enjoy them with coffee & tea, including decaf options.
Spelt flour is a flour made from an old-world species of wheat with a nutty, slightly tangy flavor. Since it’s a form of wheat, it does contain gluten. Spelt flour can be used for making cookies, breads, muffins and other applications where you’d use wheat flour. In this class, we will discuss the baking properties of various flours and how they enhance desserts.
