Preserving: Quick Pickling
March 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Cost: $40Go beyond the cucumber!
Quick pickles, also known as refrigerator pickles, are simply vegetables that are pickled in a brine and stored in the refrigerator. This method of pickling keeps your pickles crisp, and even better, almost everything in the garden can be preserved using this fast and flavorful method.
The vegetables or fruits you choose affect your flavor profile, so we will get hands on to make specific spice blends to flavor your pickles. Quick pickles are a delicious addition to salads, on sandwiches or on their own for a crunchy snack. We’ll enjoy some premade pickles in class, and you will bring home a couple jars to enjoy at home.
