Fabulous Flan!

Flan, as we know it today, is a Spanish dessert of egg custard coated in a loose caramel, but Flan has its roots in ancient Rome where it was also a savory dish.

Come and learn the basics of a sweet flan! You will be hands on making caramel for the base, then the custard. Our desserts will bake during class for you to take home to chill. As they bake, we’ll taste a pre-cooled flan together and talk about the history and its evolution. You will be able to go home to recreate a sweet flan or experiment on your own with a savory flan. Please bring a container suitable to carry your warm dessert home.
