Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Buttermilk Fried Chicken is a traditional comfort food that is full of flavor and crunch. Soaking the chicken in a seasoned buttermilk mixture not only imparts great flavor but tenderizes both the chicken and skin to help make great texture. This classic dish is flexible – you can add herbs, hot sauce and other flavors that suit your tastes.

In this session you will learn the basics of how to break down a whole chicken and marinating in buttermilk. We’ll work in teams of four to learn as Chef Mike shows you the proper way to break down a chicken to its essential pasts for frying. We’ll enjoy some of what we make in class, and you will go home with the leftovers.
